In addition to a nationwide student housing portfolio of over 5,000 beds, MJW Investments also owns and operates a portfolio of small- and mid-size market rate apartments buildings in Southern California. Last year, MJW purchased 5930 Barton Avenue, a well-located, 1928 constructed, 16-unit property a few blocks from Paramount Studios and the burgeoning Larchmont area. Since the purchase, the property has been repositioned and has undergone substantial renovations.
Improvements include new stucco, paint, windows and landscaping for the exterior, new flooring and lighting for the common areas, and full renovations of unit interiors.
Renovations were conducted to meet evolving tenant needs in the market. As a result of these improvements, we have been able to grow rents at the property.
